APPLIED KNOWLEDGE

The Applied Knowledge exams are an exceptional introduction to the world of finance and accounting, providing you with a broad understanding of essential accounting techniques.

There are three Applied Knowledge exams:

• Business and Technology

• Management Accounting

• Financial Accounting

To start studying for our Applied Knowledge exams you must be qualified to University-entrance level. And once you’ve completed these three exams you’ll be awarded the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) and be eligible to start our Applied Skills exams.

APPLIED SKILLS

Our Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams provide you with the essential building blocks needed for a successful career in Finance and Accountancy.

The Applied Skills exams build on your existing knowledge and understanding developing strong, broad and practical finance skills.

There are six Applied Skills exams:

• Corporate and Business Law

• Performance Management

• Taxation

• Financial Reporting

• Audit and Assurance

• Financial Management

To start studying for the Applied Skills exams you must have either completed the Applied Knowledge exams, have achieved the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) or have a relevant accounting or finance qualification at degree level.

STRATEGIC PROFFESIONAL

Our Professional level requires you to undertake:

• 4 exams: This includes two compulsory modules which include Strategic Business Leader and Strategic Business Reporting. You then need to choose two further courses that suit your career ambitions from Advanced Financial Management; Advanced Performance Management; Advanced Taxation; or Advanced Audit and Assurance.

To become an ACCA member you’ll also need to complete:

• 1 ethics and professional skills module: We believe that finance professionals should be ethical and demonstrate the professional skills to make an impact immediately. This is why you’ll do an Ethics and Professional Skills module.
  

• 3 years’ work experience: in a relevant workplace role.

ACCA awards certificates on the completion of certain exams within the ACCA Qualification and Foundation-level qualifications

The certificates are official documents and can be downloaded at anytime from myACCA.

Certificate of Achievement

Students are awarded a Certificate of Achievement if they achieve a pass mark of 85% or above for individual passes in the Business and Technology (BT), Management Accounting (MA), or Financial Accounting (FA) for paper based or computer based exams. The certificate of achievement is also available for Corporate and Business Law (LW) since June 2015 for 85% or above.

ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business

Students are awarded the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) when they have successfully completed the Business and Technology (BT), Management Accounting (MA) and Financial Accounting (FA) exams (at least one of which must have been sat and passed), plus completion of Foundations in Professionalism. Students who obtain full exemptions will not be awarded the Certificate.

Advance Diploma in Accounting and Business

Students are awarded the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business when they have successfully completed (either passed or exempt) the Applied Skills exams. At least two of these papers must have been sat and passed; one of these passes must have been achieved on or after 1st June 2011 exam session. The Ethics and Professional Skills module (or if previously completed the Professional Ethics module) must also have been completed. Students who obtain full exemptions will not be awarded the Certificate.

Strategic Professional Certificate

Students are awarded a Strategic Professional Certificate when they have successfully completed all the Strategic Professional exams of the ACCA Qualification. These are the two Strategic Professional Essentials exams and any two of the Strategic Professional Options exams.

The ACCA Qualification is the world leading accountancy qualification for aspiring financial professionals - providing students with the skills, knowledge and values to have successful careers and lead the organizations they work with into the future.

In order to achieve the ACCA Qualification, students have to:

• complete a maximum of 13 exams, depending on prior experience and qualifications

• complete an Ethics and Professional Skills module

• evidence three years of practical work experience within a relevant role.

This means that students can complete the ACCA Qualification in a minimum of three years.

You can book your exam directly from the our exam availability page. The earliest you can book an exam is 7 days from the date of booking. Simply select your country from the dropdown menu and then click 'Book your exam' to take you to the booking process.

If you do not see a 'book your exam' option this unfortunately means that remote on-demand exams are unavailable in your location and you should book a centre exam instead.

All test registrations shall be submitted through our website by clicking on "Register to a test". Your registration will then be finalized and confirmed by email once the online payment is validated.

Because English-language skills may improve or decline over time, ETS Global and Representatives will re-issue and confirm score results for 2 years after taking the test.

On the test day, you must have an acceptable and valid ID with a signature and a recent photograph to be admitted to a test center. Acceptable primary identification documents:

• National identification or passport for E.U test-takers taking the test in the E.U.;

• Passport for non-Europeans test-takers (important: resident permits are not authorized);

• Driver’s license or military identification for test-takers who are taking the test in their country of citizenship (you could, for example, use your French driver’s license to take the test in France).

ETS has designed two programs to support decision-making in different settings:

• The TOEIC® Institutional Testing Program: delivers a nationally recognized score report without the test taker’s photo.

• The TOEIC® Public Testing Program: delivers an international score report with the test taker’s photo.

Both programs guarantee fair, valid and reliable test scores correlated onto the CEFR. The test itself (length, difficulty, number of items, score scale…) is the same. The main difference between the two programs lies in the recommended usages of the score reports and the format of the score reports delivered.
